In Sommer 1995 I had the opportunity to spend 6 weeks in New York, where I was attending a language program at the Colombia University. Manfred Hochmeister gave me the address of the Crime Scene Unit of New York where he has been once, for his own further training. Hal Sherman, one of the fabulous and experienced detectives, took me infor 3 days. An other 3 days I was able to spend time with the Legal Investigators of the Chief Medical Examiner of New York. This time was quite exiting although there was not a lot crime at these time ( approx. 800 homicides instead as usual approx. 1200). But I saw in a part of N.Y. that people usually are not able to see.
